EMDR
Here at Nave Wellness Center, we work from a trauma-focused lens. This means that we recognize that many people have experienced forms of trauma at varied points throughout their life. Often times, these experiences impact how we function in the present. We might not even be aware of the fact that these experiences are having such an impact and acting as a hindrance to our ability to flourish.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized form of trauma-related therapy. It involves briefly focusing on the trauma memory while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements). This enables the vividness of emotions associated with the trauma memory to be reduced. EMDR is a thoroughly researched, evidence-based psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms.
Who can benefit from EMDR?
